Matt was exposed to aviation from the start of his childhood. His passion for flying was ignited by his dad, who has a license and would take him up every once in a while as a kid. Born and raised on the New Hampshire seacoast, he, his brother, and his dad would often go to the end of the runway at Portsmouth International Airport and watch as the large variety of large and small aircraft would fly low over their heads. It also helped that his childhood home was right under the approach path for runway 16!

When Matt turned 20 years old, he decided to pursue a career in aviation. He joined North Shore Community College’s Professional Aviation program and obtained his private and commercial certificates, instrument rating, and flight instructor certificate. Balancing work and school, the 141 syllabus that North Shore CC and Beverly Flight Center had to offer was a great tool to keep on track and stay motivated. Since his start, Matt has felt welcomed as a family member to BFC and knew that he wanted to instruct here.

With his strong dedication to keeping the sky full of safe and proficient pilots, Matt has his mind set to helping others interested in aviation stay motivated and achieve their goals, and give students a warm welcome into the aviation community.
